Not only the Albanian players of Sparta Laci with Tuci and the Kosovans Rrahmani i Krajniqi in the dressing room, but also their union boss Agim are rebelling against the behavior of the fans, who after the league match with Baník Ostrava (1:3) waved flags with the words “Kosovo is Serbia” Ademi in Pristina.
There is historical tension and absolute hatred between the Balkan nations, which escalated into a bloody war conflict in the 1990s.
“I am concerned about the incident in the Czech league, which calls into question our national identity and provokes aggression towards our players,” the president of the union sent to Prague. “It’s something completely unacceptable.”
With this, he pointed a raised finger in the direction of Strahov – both to the office of the Czech Football Association and to Sparta. “I am appealing to the club management and my friend Petr Fousko, the chairman of the Football Association of the Czech Republic,” informed Ademi.
“I ask that these provocations stop and that they protect the Albanian footballers who are an example of professionalism. On this occasion, I say to representatives Rrahmani, Kraniqi, Laci and Tuci: Be proud of the nation and the country you represent.”
Ademi did not send the complaint only to the Czech Republic. “It has also been addressed to UEFA and club competitions in Europe with a request that measures be taken to prevent such behaviour. Kosovo is an irreversible reality,” concluded the head of football in Kosovo in a statement.
