According to the Kremlin, the attack is a response to the intention of the United States and Great Britain to allow Ukraine to attack the territory of Russia with long-range missiles.

The attack caused a serious international reaction. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called the attack a terrible escalation. And China called for restraint in the war in Ukraine. Representatives of NATO and Ukraine will meet on Tuesday regarding the missile attack. Ukrainian President Zelensky also described the incident as a serious escalation. The Ukrainian parliament canceled its session due to the threat of a missile attack. The Russian drone attack in Sumy County left two dead and 12 wounded.
