As usual, they mix both big and smaller games.
25
Still Wakes The Deep (PS5, XSX, PC) (reviews)
The ranking opens with a horror adventure from The Chinese Room, which took us to an oil platform in the North Sea last year. In it, we had to run away from the darkness controlling the platform.
24
Flight Simulator 2024 (PC, XSX) (recent)
The latest version of the popular flight simulation brings improved graphics, new planes, but also other new flying machines such as balloons or airships, it also adds a career mode with obtaining a license for different planes and jobs.
23
Frostpunk 2 (PC) (Review)
The sequel to the award-winning management strategy, in which players must face extreme conditions and keep human society alive during a new ice age. Once again, the game practically moved its genre forward, even if not all of the changes were ideal.
22
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of The Goddess (PS5, XSX, PC) (reviews)
Capcom’s action-adventure inspired by Japanese mythology also ranked highly. The combination of rituals, battles and spiritual environment offers a unique gaming experience. It wasn’t a big title, but an interesting one.
21
Helldivers 2 (PS5, PC) (Review)
A nice cooperative shooter from Arrowhead studio was also released this year. In it, the players in the team defended humanity from alien threats with the slogan of freedom and democracy. Although the stereotype gradually came and the authors did not have time to deliver new content, the game still captivated.
20
Hell alone (PC) (Review)
An indie strategy set in a hellish environment also reached a high level. In it, players compete for power and status in the devil’s kingdom. This is a very complex and fun game that will force you to use your head and think through every step. At the same time, it successfully fulfills the fantasy of war and diplomatic skirmishes and intrigues in hell, not only with gameplay, but also with good artistic processing.
19
Core Keeper (PC) (Review)
The pretty indie pixel scene was revived last year by Core keeper, a sandbox crafting adventure where players explore mysterious undergrounds, mine resources, fight enemies and build their own bases.
18
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (PC, Xbox Series XS, Xbox One, PS4, PS5) (recenzia)
The latest part of the popular FPS series brought a nice and intense campaign with some unconventional, straight Bioshock missions. It also added intense multiplayer battles with new movement options and a decent back-to-basics zombie mode.
17
God of War: Ragnarok (PC) (Review)
The PC port of the epic continuation of the adventures of Kratos and Atreus in the world of Norse mythology was also ranked. The game offered a strong story, fights and massive bosses, albeit still an empty world.
16
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred (PS5, XSX, PC) (reviews)
This year, Diablo IV received its first major expansion called Vessel of Hatred, which brought new characters, areas and a dark story full of demons and magic. The expansion brought many positive changes.
15
Metaphor: ReFantasia (PS5, XSX, PC) (card game)
The past year was also great with the new JRPG from the authors of Persona, which this time moved players into a magical world full of strange creatures and monsters.
14
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game (PS5, XSX, PC) (reviews)
Mudrunner continued last year with the more exploration-based game Expeditions, where players had to research and move goods for expeditions. Rough terrain, complicated obstacles and a variety of vehicles awaited them again.
13
Dragon’s Dogma 2 (PS5, XSX, PC) (reviews)
The sequel to the action RPG from Capcom was also released last year, which once again offered its specific style, monsters and epic story. It also offered a great system of intelligent companions – pawns, and added engaging fights, which are especially good to look at.
12
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (Switch) (review)
The new part of the Zelda series was not missing this year and brought a surprise in the control of Princess Zelda herself, after whom the entire series is finally named. It’s not a title for every Zelda fan, but it has its own style and fun gameplay.
11
Astro Bot (PS5) (Review)
After many years, PlayStation has a great runner with a likeable hero and a strong game design. True, the representatives of the competing Nintendo stable can argue that they have already seen, played, experienced everything similar, and they are partially right, but overall it is a very good, balanced title for the genre.
10
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5) (Review)
The top ten games of 2024 are opened by the new sequel of the redesigned Final Fantasy VII. This pleased fans of the JRPG and Final Fantasy series last year, although it was only on PS5 so far, but already in January, the game will also come to PC with various visual improvements.
9
Tekken 8 (PC, PS5, XSX) (reviews)
The latest installment of the Tekken fighting series was also highly ranked here. Now on a new engine and with new options. It is the best part of the series after the unique Tekken 3. The legendary characters are back and once again they are giving it to the streets.
8
Pacific Drive (PC, PS5) (Review)
The car survival game also climbed high, in which you have to cross a mysterious Pacific coast influenced by strange supernatural elements. It is not easy to survive there.
7
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (PS5, XSX, Switch, PC) (recenzia)
Among the smaller titles, the new 2.5D Prince of Persia also jumped high. Although Ubisoft didn’t release more titles this year, this Prince was released, it had style and good gameplay and, above all, variety in gameplay, which will keep you from getting bored.
6
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (PS4, PS5, XBO, XSX, PC) (recenzia)
The two-year wait for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion paid off and offered exactly what players were waiting for, a return to the harsh world full of dangerous monsters. The authors managed to offer again the charm of the original game, add news and a lot of content.
5
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II (XSX, PC) (recent)
Much like the unit, Hellblade II is a specific title that focuses on offering a unique atmosphere complete with a unique look, and the authors succeed once again. This time in a great visual, which is the best of the games of this year, and at the same time, the sound processing was not far behind.
4
Black Myth: Wukong (PC, PS5) (Review)
From China last year, Black Myth: Wukong enriched the global gaming scene, capturing the story of the monkey king, whom players took over in the game and traveled with him through ancient mythological China. The game wasn’t perfect, it didn’t bring new features to the gameplay, but it offered a new unseen world.
3
Silent Hill 2 (PS5, PC) (Review)
Bloober went all out last year and brought a reworking of the original Silent Hill in a very impressive remake. The developers managed very well to transform a unique classic into the present and decorate it with modern graphics, while preserving the original style and especially the wonderful atmosphere of the game.
2
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl (PC, Xbox Series XS) (recenzia)
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl brought a very nice transition of the series to the modern era, the authors did not disappoint and showed that they still have what it takes. Although they did not bring many new features to the gameplay, they improved the elements that made the original game unique, there was no lack of atmosphere and impressive visuals.
1
Indiana Jones and The Great Circle (PC, Xbox Series XS) (recenzia)
