- WhatsApp is the most popular chat application
- It is used by almost 3 billion users worldwide
- We bring you 5 tips that you simply must know
WhatsApp is synonymous with the chat app and has long been the most popular platform of its kind. At first glance it looks simple and straightforward, but in fact it can do a lot and you can find features in WhatsApp that you might not even know about. We bring you 5 hidden tricks that you simply must know.
Automatic message deletion
One of the most practical functions, and not only for privacy protection. The automatic deletion of messages can be set at intervals of 24 hours, 7 or 90 days, and this is a practical feature, also for the reason that you will save a little on your storage and not store millions of messages unnecessarily. But the main advantage is that if someone gets into your phone, they won’t read much.
Mobile data restrictions
WhatsApp needs the internet to work, i.e. Wi-Fi or mobile data. In the case of text, its consumption is minimal, but saving images via mobile data can be quite a challenge with a flat rate if it is limited. However, in the Storage and data settings, you can adjust which media will be automatically downloaded via Wi-Fi and which via data. Data downloads can also be turned off completely.

Change of phone number
This feature will come in handy if you decide to switch to a new phone number. You don’t have to because of it WhatsApp to delete and reinstall it, it is enough to click on the Change number option in the account settings. Together with the number change, a complete migration of account information, groups and settings will be carried out.
Removing the largest data
In the Storage and Data settings section, there is a very useful element, namely Storage Management. It shows you how much WhatsApp and stuff around it is taking up space on your phone and sorts your chats by size. After clicking on individual conversations, you will get to the list of multimedia, which are again sorted by size, so you can easily delete those that take up the most space.
Hide profile photo
If you don’t want your WhatsApp profile picture to be available to everyone (for example, in large groups), you can hide it very easily. In the application settings, in the Privacy subfolder, you can choose who can see the profile photo and there are four options available – everyone, only your contacts, your contacts except (you choose exceptions), or no one.
