the best offers from KPN, Odido and more

Do you want to switch from a physical SIM card to an ESIM? Or maybe you go for dual SIM. We will tell you all about the benefits and where you can get the cheapest ESIM subscription from KPN, Odido and more.

The best esim offers

The esim is a replacement for your physical SIM card. The profile of your data, including the subscription, is digitally loaded on this. This means that your phone knows which bundle you have chosen from which provider. You then use the internet and make calls as you normally do.

Not all Android phones support ESIM, but the most recent ones do. So you can usually go well with a device newer than 2020. If you want to be sure, check your settings. In the Netherlands there are four providers that offer esim: KPN, Odido, Vodafone and Simyo. We list the best offers of the moment for you.

1. Simyo: from 7 euros per month

The cheapest is Simyo. Here you pay 7 euros per month for 2GB data with 400 calling minutes. The best deal, however, is for 15GB. This is temporarily one euro cheaper, for which you only pay 9 euros per month.

There are bundles up to 20GB, so there is something for everyone. The provider uses the reliable KPN network. If you have KPN internet at your address at home, you will receive extra GBs for free. This way you get an extra 10GB with a 15GB bundle. The maximum download speed of Simyo is a maximum of 300 Mbit/s.

2. Price: from 14 euros

You can take out an Odido subscription from 14 euros per month. You also get 2GB of data and 120 minutes to call. There are also promotions here at the moment, because a 10GB or 20GB subscription is currently 2.50 euros cheaper. You can get that 10GB for 15 euros per month.

The speeds for the data bundles are 300 Mbit/s. Do you need faster internet? Then go for unlimited, where you have various options up to 1Gbit/s.

Odido has its own 5G network, so you always have reliable and stable internet. If you opt for unlimited internet, you will also receive nice extras from Unlimited Plus. You can choose up to three streaming services for free. Furthermore, Odido Thuis customers receive a discount of up to 7.50 euros per month.

3. Vodafone: from 15 euros

Vodafone has subscriptions from 15 euros per month. You can use the internet for 3GB per month, but you can also use it unlimitedly. There is also a bundle with 50GB that you share with the whole family, which may be cheaper. This costs 30 euros per month.

Do you have Ziggo internet at home? Take advantage of customer benefits! This gives you up to 7.50 euros discount on your subscription, double GBs, a free TV package and more.

4. KPN: from 17.50 euros

If you prefer KPN, you will spend at least 17.50 euros per month. However, you do get 6GB of data with 150 minutes or text messages. There is also an option to choose no GBs. This is useful, for example, if you receive data from someone else at your address. This subscription costs you 14 euros per month. KPN’s standard internet speed is 300 Mbit/s, but if you opt for unlimited internet, you have more options.

Do you have KPN internet at home? Then you get Combi benefits, such as double MBs, up to a 7.50 euro discount per month on your subscription. It’s also nice that you get a 5 euro discount per month on a streaming service of your choice. This could be Spotify or Netflix, for example. Gamers choose Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The benefits of esim

Such a digital SIM card is a lot less susceptible to fraud. You will not lose the card, it does not have to be sent to you by post and therefore no one can simply steal your data.

Moreover, you can use multiple SIM cards in your phone. This is useful for work, for example, so that you have a private number and one for work-related matters.

However, there is a disadvantage to an esim: activation works via a code. This can of course be discovered by people who want to do something with it. This allows them to make off with your SIM card and data. Fortunately, this is limited by using good security for your mailbox.
