Ad August 2024 69,121 cars were registered in Italy, a number which, compared to the same month in 2023, translates into a 13.4% drop.
In the first eight months of this year, new registered cars thus reached 1,080,447 and therefore recorded a +3.8% on the same period in 2023. Compared to January-August 2019, the last pre-pandemic reference, the decline remains significant, at -18.5%.
Faced with the declining numbers of August, UNRAE once again urgently asks the Government for a strategy to accompany the energy transition, placing as a priority “that the 240 million of residual funds of the 2024 incentives be made available well before the end of the year, to refinance the exhausted allocations of the 0-20 g/km of CO2 range”.
The Resident of UNRAE, Michael Crisci reiterates:
“Crucial choices are needed for support the energy transitionstarting from the recovery of a further 250 million euros (part of the billion expected for 2025) stolen
from the Cohesion Decree, the elimination of the price cap for cars in the 0-20 g/km range or, alternatively, its equalization to that of the 21-60 g/km range. These initiatives must be part of a broader three-year strategic plan for 2025, 2026 and 2027″.
