On Friday evening, the government published the document received from the Ukrainian authorities, regarding the ban on the entry of George Simion into the territory of Ukraine.
As is known, the alleged “meeting” between Simion and the alleged Russian agent – which Anatol Șalaru declared from Bucharest that he had heard that it took place – was located by this Moldovan-Romanian citizen in Chernivtsi, so on the territory of Ukraine , and not that of the Republic of Moldova, as was to be expected, as it was more under his control. Therefore, the response from the Ukrainian authorities is the most relevant, as it is normal that the said meeting imagined by the diversionist Şalaru was intercepted by the Ukrainian agents, who had jurisdiction in the Chernivtsi governorate.
However, in the answer sent to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania by the Security Service of Ukraine, there is absolutely no reference, at all allusive, to any such meeting. Here is this answer:
„In accordance with the order of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, in response to the letter of the Prime Minister of Romania Mr. Marcel Ciolacu, we inform you that the Security Service of Ukraine has decided to apply a restrictive administrative measure in the form of a travel ban to Ukraine against MP Simion George. The decision was made on the basis of the available information about the systematic anti-Ukrainian activities of this politician, which are contrary to the national interests of Ukraine and violate its state sovereignty and territorial integrity. Simian George’s statements are intended to discredit Ukraine in the international arena and to promote the unionist ideology that denies the legitimacy of the state border of Ukraine. In addition, he spreads narratives about alleged violations of the rights of the Romanian minority in our country”, it is shown in the document.
As far as we know, Simion did not campaign to “discredit” Ukraine internationally. But – yes, he made frequent references to Northern Bucovina and the Herța land, he was frequently concerned with the fate of schools and churches in the Romanian language in Ukraine, he constantly campaigned for the rights of the Romanian minority in this country, in accordance with the European standards to which Ukraine aspire and which, in turn, were imposed on us as conditions in the accession negotiations. He recognizes all these attitudes and, more than that, declares that he maintains his views on these sensitive subjects for the entire Romanian people, not just for the sovereignist patriots.
Regarding the fact that this answer does not contain any reference to what many were waiting for, namely to confirm Şalaru’s statement, the argument arose that, you see, that meeting would have been a secret that could not be revealed and that is why it is not mentioned nothing about her. Such nonsense could rumble on Friday evening at A3 only from the tired mind of Mihai Voicu, old contopist, now removed from mothballs by PNL to be recycled in the 5th term of deputy (after a four-year break, forced of a criminal case). A general and very vague mention, in the enumeration at the end of the answer, of contacts or meetings of the Romanian citizen with agents of some foreign secret services was enough to be considered confirmation of what was said by Șalaru. However, such an allusion does not exist.
“For several days I have seen this pressure to find out what I received, directly or through the intelligence services in Romania, regarding George Simion’s entry bans to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
From the Republic of Moldova, the answer was very simple: the things and measures taken a few years ago were maintained, as if it was Dodon or who was president, I don’t know the whole history. I do not know additional things. And indeed, a written answer came to me from Ukraine. I started all the steps, I spoke with my colleagues, I also spoke directly and I am happy to inform you that, from this moment, because I still consider that it is not a document that should be put on the website of the Government of Romania – the Government is in charge of something completely different, not what I received regarding Mr. Simion – whoever will request Law 544 immediately will receive the answer with the copy of the document received from the Ukrainian authorities. I have the consent of the Ukrainian side to make this document public, explaining the context and public pressure,” Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Friday evening.
Chisinau remains at the time of Voronin
Some clarifications about the ban given to George Simion to enter the Republic of Moldova. The authorities’ decision is based on a civil law, namely “Law no. 200 on the regime of foreigners in the Republic of Moldova”, published in the Official Gazette no. 179-181 of 2010, amended by Law no. 278, published MO no. 30-37 of 2019. Art. 55 of this law provides that “The declaration of the foreigner as an undesirable person is ordered against a foreigner who has carried out, is carrying out or in whose in this respect there are substantial indications that they intend to carry out activities likely to endanger national security or public order”.
If there is still talk about meetings with Russian agents, it must be said that Nicolae Ciucă, when he was the head of the General Staff, had at least one meeting with General Gorgan, in Chisinau, in July 2015. The two discussed, among other things, the initiative to form a joint “peacekeeping” battalion, as well as the participation, “together with the Moldovan military, in multinational and bilateral exercises”. This is despite the fact that the Republic of Moldova declared itself, by the Constitution, a neutral country.
I’m not implying anything, I brought this episode up just to show that in life you may not always know who you’re talking to. How could the frantic reporters who called Șalaru into a TV studio have also suffered. Or who listens to Terheș, who talks nothing about nothing, with videos from Poland and green horses on the walls.
The Ministry of the Interior from Chisinau announced on the evening of Wednesday, May 13, 2015, that George Simion was detained and then expelled based on Art. 55 cited above. Simion was in Chisinau because, in two days, there was going to be a big street demonstration for Unire, organized by Platforma Action 2012, led by George Simion. Along with the expulsion, he was also notified of the ban on entering the country for 5 years.
The next day, spirits heated up in the Moldovan Parliament. The way in which the event of Simion’s expulsion was commented by Moldovan politicians is quite suggestive.
Liberals accused the government of acting in a KGB-ist style, jeopardizing relations with Romania. On the other hand, the communists applauded the measure of the Moldovan authorities.
“Statehood is in danger because of thefts, not rallies”
“This action proves that Voronin is the real leader of the governing coalition, because journalists and diplomats were expelled from the country only when he was alone in the government. Those who acted know exactly this. We request the leaders of the Filat, Voronin and Lupu coalition to stop the political pressure on the state institutions”, said PL deputy, Valeriu Munteanu.
The leader of the Communist Party, Vladimir Voronin, reacted immediately and threatened that if he returned to the government, he would act in exactly the same way. “May God and the Mother of God grant that the communists come to govern, that the people of the Republic of Moldova wake up and bring us to govern. I assure you that I will proceed only in this way from now on.” Voronin said.
“Actions leading to the liquidation of the state are not allowed. Let’s not forget that recently more than a hundred citizens from different countries either were not allowed or were offered to leave it”, said Marian Lupu, the PD leader.
“Statehood is endangered by bad governance and the theft of billions,” said the liberals in response. “It is not a rally that endangers statehood, but bad governance and the theft of billions. There are people here who voted against statehood. Mr. Voronin, you were for preserving the USSR. Did you not notice how they walked around the Parliament with (the ribbon) St. George, that they were with Putin in a painting? Plead for a return to the empire that occupied us. Why are you not outraged by this occupation? It is a great shame within the EU for Europe to hear that a citizen who wanted to organize a rally is expelled. It is a rally not against the state, but against the government that steals”, said the leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu.
It is interesting that, at that time, the only unionist party in Chisinau was the Liberal Party, led by Mihai Ghimpu. As a result of which Şalaru, the same Anatol Şalaru, broke a dissidence from this party, participated separately in the elections where he received 1% and left the assumed politics, dealing, as you can see, only with the underground one.
In those days, more than 200 intellectuals submitted open letters to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova expressing their disapproval of the ban and requesting its cancellation.Reports from jurnal.md from May 14, 2015)
In Bucharest, in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova, there was a protest against the abuses committed by the Chisinau authorities.
One more important detail: the Romanian MFA at that time (with minister Bogdan Aurescu) reacted quickly to the decision to expel Simion, asking for clarification through the embassy, which “immediately contacted the competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova – the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Office Migration and Asylum. In parallel, the Embassy contacted the Romanian citizen, to ensure all the assistance that might have been necessary”. “Mr. George Simion informed the diplomatic mission about his situation, without making concrete requests. At present, the Romanian citizen is on his way to Romania”, stated the MAE from Bucharest, in a statement sent immediately, on the eve of that Wednesday.
What is not often said is that, following a court action by Simion, the 5-year access ban that was given to him on May 13, 2015 was canceled in February 2016 by the Chisinau Court of Appeal. The prohibition decision is an administrative act, which Simion challenged in litigation, and the court determined that there are no reasons to prohibit him from entering the country. Two years later, in October 2018, in order to prevent the Centenary March of the Union from entering Chisinau, the Moldovan authorities, stunned by this unionism that kept marching past their windows, gave a new ban to George Simion. (I’ll be back).
It is unimaginable that such a court would have overturned the ban, if it had been given to a Russian agent!
At the beginning of the operation “Simion, the man of the Russians” it is said that the proof of the information given by the Moldovan-Romanian Șalaru would represent that black swan that would completely change the dates of the electoral campaign and implicitly the results of the first round. But the black swan turned out to be a drunken turkey, says George Simion.
Personally, I am not concerned about the effects of this turn of events on Simion’s election score. Probably the PNL of the braggarts Rareș Bogdan, Sighiartău, Roman et Co put a few percent in his pocket. Somehow these elections will pass. But we stay with alde Şalaru. That is why I believe that the status of this Moldovan-Romanian citizen established in Romania and whose public statements were clearly intended to misinform and thereby influence the outcome of the elections must be clarified.
It was as if General Rog dealt with such cases.
