The body of a kidnapped Bangladeshi youth was recovered by the Arakan Army

The police recovered the body of a Bangladeshi youth named Chhaidul Bashar (20) from Nafnadi near Ukhiya border in Cox’s Bazar.

The deceased Syedul Bashar is the son of the deceased Mohammad Hossain of Anjuman Para, Ward No. 9, Palangkhali Union, Ukhia. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia police station Arif Hossain confirmed the matter.

OC said, today Saturday (November 16) around 9 am local and family members found a dead body in Ukhia Palongkhali Anjuman Para Bangladesh and Myanmar border area Naf river.

Later, family members identified the body. After receiving the information about this incident, the police prepared a surathal report after recovering the body from the spot. There are marks of injury on the body. He is believed to have been killed. Legal action is under process in this incident.

On the other hand, it has been reported that last Thursday, November 14, 5 residents of Ukhia Palongkhali were caught by the Arakan Army, a separatist organization of Myanmar, when they went to fish in the Naf River on the border of Bangladesh and Myanmar through Anjuman Para.

Ukhia Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Acting UNO Jarin Tasnim Tasin said, “I heard yesterday that Arkan Army has captured 5 fishermen.”

On Saturday morning, the body of a young man named Chhaidul Bashar was found in Naf river in Palangkhali Anjuman district of Ukhia border. It is believed that the rescued youth was among the 5 prisoners taken by the Arakan Army. More details and information are being gathered in this regard.
