The body of a person was recovered from the side of a pile of hay in Ramu

A dead body of a person was recovered from the neighbor’s haystack in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Police believe he died after being struck by an electrical wire buried in a haystack.

Ramu Police Station OC Emon Kanti Chowdhury said that the dead body of Mohammad Hamid was recovered from the side of the haystack in Tulatali area of ​​Kachhpia Union on Saturday morning.

Abdul Gafoor (55), whose body was recovered, is the son of deceased Jalal Ahmed of the same area.

About the locals, OC Eamon said that there has been a rash of theft of hay stacks for cattle feed in different areas. Many owners bury electrical wires in haystacks to protect against burglary.

OC said, on Saturday morning, the locals found Abdul Gafur dead next to Hamid’s haystack. When they informed, a police team recovered the dead body from the spot.

There is no sign of injury on the body of the deceased. However, there is a slight burn mark on the right palm.

Initially, it is believed that sometime during the night, Abdul Gafoo went to collect hay from the pile of his neighbor Mohammad Hamid. Then he was electrocuted while moving the electricity buried around the pile with his hand.

He further said that still the police are investigating to know if it was just an accident or some other reason. The body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
