ASUS has launched the first ultra-thin 16-inch notebook of the new ASUS AI PC era, the Zenbook S 16 (UM5606), which combines performance and sophistication.

The premium Zenbook S 16 brings new functional aesthetics and design. The chassis uses the wonderful high-tech ceramic hybrid material Ceraluminum(1) in colors that are inspired by nature. This all-new innovation boasts unmatched hardness that resists scratches and wear.

Zenbook S 16 is powered by the latest processor up to AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with Radeon 890M graphics chip and neural unit performance up to 50 TOPS. Thanks to advanced CNC milling, ASUS was able to incorporate a 3D evaporation chamber into the ultra-quiet cooling system, which is unique in such a thin device, and thus ensure maximum processor performance at up to 28 W TDP with minimal noise. The functional design enhances the user experience with features such as a dedicated Copilot key and a 40% larger key(2) touchpad with 16:10 format and support for smart gestures.

The combination of a 3K 120 Hz ASUS Lumina OLED display and a powerful six-speaker audio system provides immersive entertainment and a real cinematic experience, which is an unprecedented feature in such a thin laptop.

The device is reliably protected by Microsoft Pluton technology, and there is also a new handy Windows passkeys feature that allows users to securely store login information. The notebook also offers improved biometric security and privacy features such as facial recognition for automatic login and logout, adaptive lock and adaptive dimming provided by the AiSense IR camera.

Combining art and technology

Zenbook S 16 has a new design and functional aesthetics. It uses the new material Ceraluminum, which provides hardness, completes the ultra-thin design and at the same time resists time. ASUS spent four years fine-tuning the colors, texture and hardness of this innovative material, and the result speaks for itself.

Thanks to cutting-edge CNC technology, the Zenbook S 16 has a remarkable thickness of only 1.1 cm, while it houses a comprehensive range of high-end components, including an advanced cooling system with an evaporation chamber. Zenbook S 16 is the only notebook that combines such elegance and functionality. At the same time, it is the thinnest and most compact(3) 16-inch notebook, reinforcing ASUS’ commitment to delivering top performance without sacrificing portability. CNC machining also helped create an exclusive geometric grid design above the keyboard and carve out an extra-large touchpad area.

The notebook is made in two new colors inspired by nature – Zumaia Gray and Scandinavian White.

Powerful and intuitive

Zenbook S 16 offers artificial intelligence of the new generation in an ultra-thin design. The notebook is equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors in combination with up to 32 GB of fast RAM memory and up to 2 TB of PCIe® 4.0 SSD storage. The processor reaches a TDP of up to 28 W and its built-in Ryzen AI engine provides artificial intelligence performance of up to 50 TOPS. The high-capacity 78 Wh battery helps ensure all-day endurance.

Zenbook S 16 focuses on providing a simple, intuitive and seamless user experience. The ASUS ErgoSense keyboard includes a special Windows Copilot key that allows you to invoke the Windows AI assistant with a single press. The 40% larger and ultra-smooth touchpad uses a 16:10 format for intuitive control, and its larger area increases comfort and makes it easier to use smart gestures. This allows users to easily perform tasks such as quickly adjusting audio volume and screen brightness for seamless video viewing.

Zenbook S 16 also boasts a complete set of input-output ports, including two USB4 Type-C® ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, an HDMI® 2.1 output, an SD card reader and a combined audio jack. WiFi 7 with ASUS WiFi Master Premium function guarantees the fastest and most reliable connection wherever you are.

Immersive audiovisuals

A large and bright ASUS Lumina OLED display with 3K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz ensures an immersive and realistic image. It offers Pantone Validated® and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and has 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, which guarantees vivid and superior color rendering and a great experience of HDR content.

A powerful audio system with six speakers and Harman Kardon certification completes the true cinematic experience, which is a remarkable feature in such a slim device. There are two high-frequency tweeters and four low-frequency woofers that provide multi-dimensional Dolby Atmos® sound. The result is an audiovisual experience that is truly immersive, incredibly realistic and adds heightened emotion to movies, games and music.

Quiet and safe

In the case of the Zenbook S 16, special attention was paid to noise reduction. An advanced 3D cooling system with an evaporation chamber and two Iceblade fans allows for cooling with a noise level below 25 dB. At the same time, it can automatically adjust to use full power at 28 W TDP. The attractively designed geometric grid above the keyboard maximizes airflow and minimizes the risk of dust or dirt ingress.

Seamless security and user privacy are top priorities, so Zenbook S 16 supports Windows passkeys and uses Microsoft Pluton technology, which integrates the most advanced hardware, firmware and threat protection software. Windows Passkeys uses facial recognition with Windows Hello to securely access your credentials, so you don’t have to remember passwords or other private information.

Face recognition using Windows Hello is enabled by the ASUS AiSense infrared camera. This camera also supports the convenient Adaptive Lock function, which monitors the user’s presence and locks the laptop when the user is away. Adaptive Dimming enhances privacy by dimming the screen when the user is not looking at the screen.
