The Breaking Bad star is excited about his upcoming Marvel role: “No one has yet guessed who I’m playing”

Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters in February 2025.

Captain America of the new generation of Marvel Studios, under the leadership of Anthony Mackie, will be on the big screen at the beginning of the year. The official premiere of Captain America: Brave New World is February 14, 2025.

In addition to Mackie, the film also stars Giancarlo Esposito, known from the Breaking Bad series, whose character has been kept a secret. Esposito himself has commented that no one has yet guessed the character he plays correctly, reports Comicbook Movie.

“The character I play is a real badass. I’m excited about it. I find it a fascinating art to be able to create a character from its birth. I had a great time on set. And I’m not going to tell you who I’m playing. People are trying to guess it, but so far no one has hit the right one yet,” explains Esposito.

One popular theory has been that Esposito would play GW Bridge, the gun-wielding villain first seen in the 1991 X-Force comic.

In addition to Mackie and Esposito, the cast of Captain America: Brave New World includes Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson and Harrison Ford.

The film is directed by Julius Onah.
