In St. Petersburg, it is planned to overhaul the Kronverksky wooden bridge, which is an object of historical and cultural heritage of federal significance.
As reported by the press service of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution Mostotrest, the project involves the dismantling of old structures and the installation of a new foundation and supports. After this, specialists will install the metal span and wooden flooring.
In turn, the Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure of St. Petersburg noted that all work will be carried out under the supervision of KGIOP. The overhaul is expected to last until the end of 2025.
To maintain transport links with Hare Island, a backup bridge will be built during the work. The temporary bridge will appear by the end of 2024.
The Kronverksky Bridge is the only automobile crossing leading to the territory of the Peter and Paul Fortress. It was repeatedly repaired in wood, and it received a metal span in 1977.
