Željka Savković, one of the beneficiaries of allowances for mothers with three or more children, said that they expect an increase in those allowances to be provided for in the state budget for 2025.
She announced that she addressed Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić and Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić in writing.
“I am writing this letter with the faith that while working on the Draft Budget for 2025, you will also think of us, Mothers 3+. I am glad that this 44th Government and the parliamentary majority are thinking of the citizens. Pensions have increased. Minimum wages have increased , now for the second time. Student loans have been increased. Pensioners with proportional pensions have been increased from January 2025, and pension increases of between 50 and 60 The workers of “Dakić” and “Košuta” have finally been satisfied and 336 euros can’t,” she wrote.
He says that the inflation that “roared and is still going on, even though it is smaller”, threatened the standard of mothers with three or more children.
“You will all admit together, especially those who were with us on the street when we defended our acquired right of 192 and 336 euros at that time for four years from January 2017, and eight years later the same 192 and 336 euros now, do not represent anything. That’s why appeal to you to increase benefits for mothers 3+ and provide funds to make regular payments and make this a priority for budget planning for 2025.”
Savković says that in a conversation with the deputy of the Europe Now Movement, Vasilij Čarapić, “who is aware of the situation” in which the beneficiaries of allowances for mothers with three or more children find themselves, she “felt the desire” for those allowances to be increased.
“Since April 2022, since the Law on Compensation came into force, mothers have not been paid PIO contributions. If they were, some mothers might now have the right to a pension. Mothers do not receive earnings through giro accounts, so they are deprived of all the benefits that pensioners have”.
Savković says that it is time to “put the beneficiaries of benefits for mothers with three or more children first” and to “finally unfreeze the 192 and 336 euros”.
“You’ll admit, and patience comes to an end. You’ll admit, when we stood on the line with the one before whom many were silent, nothing will prevent us from doing it again, precisely with those who are where they are with our votes, and who are now deciding about us. I personally believe that you will not allow this and that is why we expect the Budget for 2025 and Mothers 3+ with increased benefits in it,” she said.
