The BYD YangWang U9 is one of the newest electric supercars on the market. This top proposal from the Chinese brand is a showcase of the best it can create and will certainly bring to its cars. The YangWang U9 is not only fast, but also brings many new technologies that not even the most expensive European brands can match. The U9 can literally jump over holes!
This BYD proposal is equipped with BYD's Disus-X suspension system. This comprises intelligent body damping control and an intelligent hydraulic body control system. The company shared a video demonstrating the capabilities of its latest supercar.
The video shared by the brand shows the U9 accelerating to more than 120 km/h autonomously. The complicated suspension kicks in as soon as the car approaches a pothole. He pushes the car into the air briefly with a force of over a ton, before gently landing on the other side of the obstacle.
It is powered by four electric motors with a combined power of 960 kW (1,287 hp) and maximum torque of 1,680 Nm. The YangWang U9 is powered by four electric motors that produce 1,288 hp. BYD claims it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 9.78 seconds, with a top speed of 390 km/h.
In November 2024, the Yangwang U9 achieved an impressive result, with a lap time of 7:17.9 at the Nürburgring. The car has 465 km of range in CLTC conditions and uses an 80 kWh battery, which supports charging rates of up to 500 kW.
This unique BYD proposal probably won't reach the global market anytime soon. Yangwang is BYD's premium car division, which makes it even more attractive to the lucky few who can afford the 220,000 euros it costs in China.
