Domestic. It is “frightening” that the German government now appears to be moving towards supporting peace talks in Ukraine. Muharrem Demirok, chairman of the Center Party, believes so.
It is in a post on X as Muharrem Demirok drops the comment.
“Besides Trump, Germany and Scholz are now also opening peace talks with Putin. Scary,” he writes and continues:
“Peace in Ukraine cannot be on the aggressor’s terms. Putin’s terror and war crimes should be rewarded with a one-way ticket to The Hague, not to the negotiating table.”
The post has received a number of critical comments. One reads:
“Why is it scary? Is it better for Ukraine to fight to the last man and lose everything? Peace should have been negotiated a long time ago. You are a grown man AND the party leader of Sweden’s largest party and reason like a child who has seen too many Star Wars times.”
Journalist and author Chris Forsne makes this appeal to the C leader:
“Volunteer. Sitting on the TV couch and sending others to their deaths is anything but honorable.”
