Kasselakis autopsy in the areas of Xylokastro that were affected by the fire

Today, Stefanos Kasselakis visited Xylokastro and performed an autopsy on the areas affected by the latest fire, while he met with residents who were at risk of losing their homes, according to a related announcement.

“I see the damage and after a few weeks it is forgotten by the authorities,” said St. Kasselakis, expressing his concern about the situation, as the needs of the citizens may be neglected over time.

The former SYRIZA president spoke with the firefighters involved in extinguishing the devastating fire and was informed about the details of their operation, as well as their efforts to limit the extent of the disaster. He once again expressed his appreciation for the dedication and self-sacrifice of the firefighters.

Kasselakis also spoke with a beekeeper in the area, who has suffered serious damage from the fire. As noted in the announcement, the beekeeper expressed her complaints about the required procedure for the compensation, as, as she stated, she was asked for the amount of 280 euros for submitting the application regarding the damage she suffered.

“This discussion highlights the need for relief and support for those affected, but also the pressure exerted by the bureaucracy at critical moments,” the announcement states.
