The conference brought together more than 200 participants from the world of insurance, representatives of insurance companies, regulators, supervisors and other supporting financial institutions from BiH and the region. The organizer of the conference is the Association of Insurance Companies in FBiH.

This year’s conference was opened by Damir Hadžić, president of the Board of Directors of the Association of Insurance Companies in FBiH, who emphasized the need for a strategic approach to the development of this sector, but also its importance for the economy and economic development of our country.

The participants of the biggest and main event of the insurance profession in Bosnia and Herzegovina were greeted by the Federal Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Toni Kraljević, who pointed out that the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is extremely financially stable.

The Federal Ministry of Finance maintains stability, and when it comes to the insurance sector, we in the FBiH Government are aware that it is one of the key levers of the financial system. Insurance plays a crucial role in creating security, both for individuals and for economic entities, the entire economy and society as a whole. We are also aware of the challenges facing this industry. The doors of the Ministry of Finance are always open for discussion with the aim of overcoming all challenges together. It is about, among other things, the redefinition of the legislative framework, harmonization with EU directives, as well as the digitalization and development of new technologies and products on the insurance market.“, Kraljević pointed out.

Among the speakers were eminent experts from the industry, who shared their knowledge and experiences. Their presentations covered a wide range of topics, including new approaches in risk insurance, the importance of data in making business decisions, the impact of digitization and artificial intelligence on the insurance process, the development of innovative products that adapt to the needs of users, and regulatory changes affecting the insurance sector.

Jasmina Selimović, Governor of the Central Bank of BiH, pointed out that the citizens of BiH still do not have a sufficiently developed awareness of the fact that insurance is an investment, and not something that the legislator forces them to do. Selimović also referred to earlier projections of the International Monetary Fund on GDP growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and said that at the beginning of this year, inflation was brought under control at the global level.

In the previous period at the world level, we had various political and economic instabilities, and the pandemic, which raised the level of preparedness here as well, and I can say that we are now in a situation where we are thinking about how we will spend the next 10 years. Now we can talk about whether the market, as well as insurance companies, is ready to respond to the challenges that are put before us or whether we will be reactive and look to react only when something happens to us. I believe that we have to be proactive and make an extra effort because then it will be much easier for us and we will do much better”Governor Selimović said.

As part of the first day of the conference, interesting panel discussions were held, where the panelists had the opportunity to talk about the key issues facing the insurance industry, where they agreed that innovation is key to adapting and surviving in today’s dynamic business environment.

The conference continues with interesting presentations related to climate change and the challenges that catastrophic natural disasters pose to insurance companies, as well as a panel discussion dedicated to the relationship between justice and insurance, and a presentation of experiences from the region with the use of electric vehicles and sales skills in communication with generation Z is also planned. .
