The cheapest folding phone in Europe is getting a successor

The Nubia Flip 2 promises to be an affordable smartphone with mid-range specifications, but in a luxurious flip housing.

Nubia Flip 2 official for less than 400 euros

Anyone who wants to enjoy a foldable smartphone for next to nothing is in luck. Nubia launches the Flip 2, which succeeds the affordable Nubia Flip 5G. The new flip phone has only been announced in Japan for now, but we hope it will also be released in Europe later. It is probably a bit more expensive than the converted price 400 euro that you pay for it in Japan.

So it is a flip-folding phone, or a ‘normal’ device that folds in half into a handy package. Nubia gives the Flip 2 a number of cool innovations. For example, there is now a larger rectangular screen on the back, instead of a smaller round display. You can quickly read notifications or use handy widgets.

When unfolded, the phone has a large 6.9-inch AMOLED screen. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chip inside was specially developed for the Nubia’s two screens. There is also 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. Unfortunately, the phone does not yet run on the latest Android version, but Android 14.

There are three cameras. On the back you will find a 50 megapixel main camera and 2 megapixel depth sensor. The large screen houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera. These are not the best camera specifications, but Nubia promises to make up for a lot with AI. The battery has a size of 4300 mAh and is fully charged within an hour.

More about the Nubia Flip (2)

It is not yet known whether and when the Nubia Flip 2 will come to the Netherlands. The manufacturer usually only launches smartphones on its own European website. We will therefore keep a close eye on this for you and let you know when more is known.

We expect that the manufacturer will not implement a major price increase, which will once again make the Nubia Flip 2 the cheapest new foldable in Europe. The first Nubia Flip 5G currently carries that title, but this phone has also clearly saved on specifications and design, such as the chip and cameras.
