The Chinese arrive in Novi Sad to make chassis

The contract on the construction of the production hall of the Chinese factory Shac was signed in Shanghai, and the plan is to open it in Novi Sad at the end of next year.

The mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Đurić, during his working visit to China, visited the Shac automobile industry in Shanghai, which plans to open that factory in Novi Sad.

It will produce chassis for the European market, and work will be provided for 150 workers.

During his stay in Shanghai, Đurić signed a contract with the company’s management for the construction of a production hall where chassis for the automotive industry would be produced.

“This is a very significant investment for Novi Sad. In addition to providing jobs for 150 residents of Novi Sad, Shac will contribute to the growth of GDP, but also to an increase in income for the local self-government from property tax and income tax. In addition, the arrival of this very important factory will improve the global position of Novi Sad, because it will be the first factory that Shac opens on the territory of Europe. We expect the factory to open at the end of 2025,” said Đurić.

The Shanghai factory SHAC (Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Manufacturing) manufactures and markets heavy trucks and buses, as well as vans with sound and lighting, minibuses.

It was founded in 1992, and the roots of truck production go back to 1958, when the first vehicle of its kind was assembled in China.
