The Chinese from Leapmotor will launch a competitor for the Kia EV3

Leapmotor, the Chinese manufacturer backed by the Stellantis group, wants to launch a compact electric SUV in Europe. It will compete with cars like the Kia EV3.

The Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor recently debuted on the European car market, including in Romania, where it will sell, at least in the first phase, a small electric car. This rival for models like Dacia Spring or Citroen e-C3 is called Leapmotor T03 and offers up to 265 km of autonomy.

Leapmotor also announced that it will also bring a mid-range electric SUV, called the C10, with 420 km of autonomy. The Chinese manufacturer has barely made its European debut, but it doesn’t want to wait too long to enter the market and is already announcing a third electric model that will join the range.

The third model that Leapmotor will bring to Europe is the B10 compact SUV. It has already appeared in several official teasers and will be presented at the Paris Motor Show.

Leapmotor wants to strengthen its presence in Europe

Unlike the T03 small hatchback and C10 mid-size SUV, which were available in China before the Chinese manufacturer’s European market debut, the B10 is a completely new model. This compact SUV will enter a competitive field filled with options such as the Kia EV3 and Hyundai Kona Electric, it reports Carscoops.

Stellantis said the B10 will be the first global model to be built on Leapmotor’s new platform, with a mission to bring “advanced technology to an even wider audience.” While specific powertrain details remain undisclosed, the B10 is expected to be fully electric.

Leapmotor currently offers both battery electric and range extender electric vehicle options for most of its models in China, suggesting that similar offerings may be available for this new SUV.

For the moment we only have photos of camouflaged prototypes from which the silhouette of the future SUV can be seen. We can see that the car uses modern design elements that the industry has adopted in recent years, such as headlights split into two separate units or door handles flush with the body.
