It’s called Travel Trends 2025: the search for collective and sharing experiences the Skyscanner report created by commissioning a survey of over 20 thousand travelers around the world. From the research it emerges that Italian travelers are looking for experiences that keep them in close contact with others, that create union and foster a sense of community, something that is needed now more than ever, in a world so characterized by uncertainties and divisions. The research also highlighted how strongly Italians intend to travel in the coming months: 2025 will be a year dedicated to the exploration of new destinations, but with always keep an eye on savingswhich remains an essential requirement. Some destinations are particularly suitable for holidays, because they have a good value for money which makes them ideal for a viaggio low cost.
Cities to explore in 2025
Italians have a great desire to travel in 2025, but for them Price remains a fundamental factor in choosing a destination. Value for money is an essential requirement for 62%, followed by the cost of the hotel (58%) and the cost of food and drinks (26%). Over the past year, some destinations have seen the biggest drop in airfare prices starting from Italy. This decline can be attributed to various factors: the launch of new routes that open these destinations for the first time and/or a greater frequency of low-cost flights.
Budapest, Hungary
In 2024, for example, Italy’s direct connections with Topkyo (Japan) were decisive in the country’s success in the eyes of travellers. In fact, like all products and services, prices also drop in the travel sector to stimulate interest when demand is low; vice versa, when demand is high, prices change accordingly. The data collected by Skyscanner is based on the percentage decreases in the prices of return economy class flights booked between 1 January 2024 and 30 June 2024 for trips in 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

Berlin, Germany
In 2025, among the most convenient cities to reach there is a Japanese city: Nagoya, the fourth largest city in the country, which has seen the most significant drop in prices. Next up is Budapest, which has become particularly easy to reach from Italy. And given the drop in prices, 2025 is definitely a good time to head to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. Fourth on the list is Sweden’s second city, Gothenburg.
