BANJALUKA – “Akvana”, a Banja Luka public company that has been operating with losses since its foundation, and which have reached millions, plans to spend more than 800,000 KM on the development of preliminary projects, documentation that shows in practice what a certain area will look like.

That money will be spent on the preparation of five different documents that should determine how certain parts of the water park in the Borik settlement will be arranged, more precisely the sports fields (178,190 KM without VAT), ground level landscaping (190,900 without VAT), renovated field (110,548 KM without VAT), the appearance of the gym (171,960 without VAT), and the ground floor arrangement of the gym (99,685 KM without VAT).

When these amounts are added up, the figure of 879,003 KM with the associated tax is reached.

In the public procurement plan of this company, it is defined that the money will be provided from regular business activities and credit funds.

We would like to remind you that this is a public company that has been operating positively in only one year, 2022, since its foundation. This resulted in a loss of millions, more precisely, according to the latest information, the accumulated loss of “Akvana” amounts to 13.4 million KM.

Because of all this, the City of Banjaluka had to intervene on two occasions to save this public enterprise from collapse. Last year, Banjaluka borrowed five million KM, and most of that money went to pay off the company’s debts. This year, the City borrowed an additional 1.3 million KM in order to resolve the issue of unpaid taxes and contributions for “Akvana” workers.

After all of the above, the question arises as to why the “Akvana” management decided to plan a significant amount for these purposes, when it is taken into account that the above amount will not include works.

In order to get an answer, we contacted the director of this company, Svetislav Lazić, but he did not respond to the messages and calls of the editorial portal. CAPITAL.
