The Old Sava Bridge in Belgrade, built during the Nazi occupation, will be closed to traffic on November 2 after more than eight decades of use. Bus lines were recently diverted from it, and now cars, trams, and pedestrians will no longer go here.

The Secretariat for Public Transport announced that they will be starting on Saturday preparatory work for dismantling which include the removal of installations, the removal of rails, carriageways, and the gradual dismantling of the steel structure of the bridge, eKapija states.
With the closing of the bridge the public transport regime is changing. Tram lines 7 and 9 will run across the Ada Bridge, and bus line 9A is being introduced, which will connect Trg Slavija with Block 45 until the new bridge is built.
On the right bank of the Sava, vehicles will be directed towards Brankova Most, while one traffic lane will be added to Karađorđeva Street in order to facilitate the flow of vehicles towards Zemun Road.
As eKapija writes, intensive works have been going on in Savska street for weeks and the tram corridor was completed at the last minute. A cube was placed on part of the route, part of it was concreted, while some parts were left with dirt. One side of the road has been reconstructed and asphalted, so traffic is expected to open, while the other side is yet to be renovated.
