Evelin Vogel, president of the Tisza Party, ex-girlfriend of Péter Magyar, is listed as a “commercial specialist” of a non-existent company on Linkedin, the world’s largest business social network. According to his professional profile on LinkedIn, he has been working for a company called “Aston Media Studio” as a “commercial specialist” since 2021. However, there is no trace of a company with this name in the company register or on the Internet. Vogel admitted to our Evelin newspaper that there really is no such company. In response to our inquiry, he wrote: “I don’t use my LinkedIn, I can’t access it much anymore, so I don’t update it either. We planned to start that company together with my ex-partner. We also had a few assignments, but with previous companies. Unfortunately, our joint project eventually stopped, we didn’t carry it through, so there is no registered company with that name.”
Evelin Vogel came into the spotlight after, according to an audio recording, she asked several members of the Tisza Party for HUF 30 million. According to Péter Magyar, he tried to blackmail them with secretly recorded audio recordings. Because of this, the politician filed a complaint yesterday.
Magyar not only claimed that Vogel blackmailed them, but also talked about the fact that, after they did not pay him, his ex-girlfriend helps to break the deal with Fidesz, and receives a salary of five million forints a month, and also lives in the downtown apartment of a large contractor close to the government. So far, only the latter claim has been confirmed, but the owner of the apartment, György Vertán, head of Tigra Zrt., claims that it is only friendly help. It is an interesting coincidence that Péter Magyar’s ex-wife, former Minister of Justice Judit Varga, just got a job at Tigra Zrt.
Evelin Vogel spoke, she wants to tell everything when the time comes
In the meantime, new details have come to light about the conversation in which Evelin Vogel asks HUF 30 million from the producer who previously helped the Tisza Party, Henrik Hanzel. After the shorter version that was made public on Sunday, the two-hour, uncut recording of the meeting also reached our newspaper yesterday. This came from the same e-mail address from which a recording aimed at discrediting Péter Magyar, probably recorded by Vogel, also came earlier. It is also clear from the newer recording that Vogel Evelin asked for money. It turned out, however, that he thought Magyar could easily pay this because he traded on the stock exchange with “inside information”.
Evelin Vogel said that she is in an extremely difficult financial situation, she is down to zero, she sleeps on a friend’s couch, and a sublet starts at 400,000.
While more and more audio recordings are arriving at an almost impossible pace, little has been said so far about Péter Magyar’s other serious claims. The politician spoke on Sunday about the fact that a discrediting campaign with a secret service background was launched against him. Our professional sources were strongly divided on this. We had a source with a national security background – who is especially critical of today’s services – who said: it was impossible for this to happen in the Hungarian services, because such a politically sensitive order would leave many traces, after which the participants could “hit the their ankles.” another, also professional, source of ours was more permissive. According to him, today “everything is imaginable”, it is also technically possible to ensure that such a messy background surveillance does not leave a written trace inside the house. – However, it is much more likely and simpler if external private intelligence agents are employed for such a task, rather than from the state – said our source. According to him, such “gray zone, semi-legal” companies also exist in Hungary, for them an installed or external eavesdropping is in principle considered a routine operation. Just like the AI-based manipulation of audio recordings, and the prevention against it, has been a known technology for years. As one of our sources emphasized: it is best to have the audio recordings examined by an expert, as he can in principle filter out if there are manipulated parts.
A one-and-a-half-hour version of the audio recording published by Péter Magyar has been found. Péter Magyar: We can prove that Vogel Evelin secretly recorded the meetings of the Tisza Party on behalf of Fidesz, I will file a report tomorrow
