The compulsory liquidation of Anderton castings will lead to the disappearance of nearly 90 jobs

About ten years after its resumption at the helm of the Saint-Étienne Commercial Court, in 2015, Anderton castings, formerly C2FT and former subsidiary of the French group Sifcor, returned to the Saint-Etienne jurisdiction on its route. But this time, the story ends there. The automotive supplier based in Andrézieux-Bouthéon (Loire), on the outskirts of Saint-Étienne, was placed in receivership last July.

It was the cancellation of a contract with Fisker, an American start-up in the electric vehicle sector recently placed in bankruptcy, which was fatal to the company. The latter was liquidated by the commercial court on October 9.

An investment plan of 25 million euros announced in 2021

In search of a buyer, Anderton castings, specialized in the manufacture of aluminum parts for ground connections (suspension arms, steering knuckle, front and rear pivots, shock absorber supports, etc.), has received no response. to the call for tenders launched via its judicial administrator.

The company was owned by a former graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne and his wife, and chaired by Serge Dupin for a year. It employed nearly 90 people and had recorded a turnover flirting with 25 million euros in 2023 (with 150 employees) compared to 9.4 million in 2022.

Four years ago, its director at the time, Richard Musy, announced an investment plan of 25 million euros over the period 2021/2025 with around ten million euros dedicated to the modernization of the tooling which had to be financed by its customers. Anderton Castings had planned to invest 2.5 million euros in the extension of its site which would have increased from 5,000 to 9,500 square meters and had planned to make 130 recruitments over five years. The work ultimately never began.
