the configuration and price of the Galaxy A56, the next midrange smartphone from Samsung

Samsung launched the midrange Galaxy A55 models at the end of March last year, thus suggesting that its successor – the Galaxy A56 – is not far from appearing on the market. With a potential release scheduled for spring this year, the Samsung Galaxy A56 has been the subject of several leaks, the latest of which reveals almost all the details that matter about this upcoming midrange smartphone.

Thus, the Samsung Galaxy A56 would be based on an internal production chip Exynos 1580 and benefit from an AMOLED screen, with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as premium construction, with an aluminum metal frame and back made of glass.

According to the leak, the Galaxy A56 should arrive in multiple RAM and storage variants: either 8 or 12 GB of system RAM, accompanied by 128 or 256 GB of storage. The phone is said to be powered by a generous 5000mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging.

In terms of the camera system, the Samsung Galaxy A56 should include a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and another 5 MP secondary camera, probably a macro object. The selfie camera is said to use a 12 MP sensor.

Price unchanged from previous generation?

The leak that revealed this configuration for the Galaxy A56 suggests that the phone’s launch price, at least in the UK, will be £439. Fixed at this price level, the Galaxy A55 was also launched last year, with rumors suggesting that the new generation of midranges from Samsung will keep the prices of the previous one.

Until the Galaxy A56, Samsung is set to launch its new flagship Galaxy S25 range later this month at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is set to be held on January 22, 2025.
