The ‘Connecta’t amb l’entorn’, program of summer activities of the Martorell Municipal Board of Care Services for the People of Martorell (PMSAPM) for children and teenagers, continues. It is a fun and multidisciplinary proposal that runs from June 25th until July 26th, followed by more than half a thousand users. This morning, the mayor Xavier Fonollosa visited some of the spaces that host the program, accompanied by the councilors of Education Soledad Rosende; of Childhood and Adolescence Belén Leiva; of Sports Gerard Mimó and of Urban Services and Public Way Elisabet Plaza.

At the Casa de Cultura de La Vila, Fonollosa and the councilors have talked with four groups of upper cycle students from the José Echegaray school who have made a discovery of the space through interviews with the neighborhood, pedestrians and neighborhood merchants. Next, the delegation visited the Lola Anglada school, a center of reference, the second with the most registrations and with 7 activity groups (four for early childhood education, one for first, one for second and one for third and fourth year students ), with activities such as psychomotor skills or reading workshops.

The mayor gave a very positive assessment of the experience: “We have more than 500 boys and girls signed up, a very optimal number and which is above the average of recent years in terms of enrollment in the schools. And they all say they’re having a great time. The reception it has is very good”.

The ‘Connecta’t amb l’entorn’ is a program that, as Fonollosa explains, helps children and young people “to value the rich natural environment we have in Martorell, often unknown to many citizens”. The mayor emphasizes that the best thing is to “make it known to children through games and activities that allow them to connect with it”.

It is subdivided into five areas: one is ‘Connect with the summer’, which generates a positive link between participants and their immediate environment with sports, cultural and leisure activities. There is also ‘Activa’t a l’estiu’, which proposes five thematic weeks, dedicated to manga drawing, singing, cooking, sport and the basics of programming. The ‘Forma’t a l’estiu’ offers young people between 16 and 25 years of age the option of enrolling in sports or leisure instructor courses. There are also intensive swimming courses and, finally, the ‘English Summer School’, a new intensive course of 32 hours over four weeks to improve the students’ level of English.

Fonollosa points out that “everything is done: swimming pool, painting, reading, reading passport… there are about 50 different activities to do what is needed at the summer camps, which is to play and have fun outdoors, always time permitting”.

The ‘Connecta’t amb l’entorn’ gives continuity to the ‘Martorell Educa 360’ program during the summer months and will last until next Friday 26 July.
