The construction of a new overpass near Ada Ciganlija is again under question

The project to build a new overpass on Kirovljeva Street, which is supposed to replace the existing dilapidated structure, is facing another delay. The tender for the technical control of documentation, crucial for the progress of this project, was officially suspended because there were no interested bidders.

The Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade announced this public invitation with an estimated value of 3.3 million dinars without VAT, but due to the lack of applications, the process has been stopped, according to eKapija.

It is not yet known when the new tender will be announced, nor if certain items in the contract, including the value of the work, will be revised. It is clear, however, that this stoppage will further extend the implementation of the entire project.

The old overpass has not been able to handle heavy traffic for years, which is why it is bus and freight traffic diverted to the loop near the Hippodromereminds eKapija. This situation makes it much more difficult to move in the direction of Banovo brdo.

The plan envisages the demolition of the existing overpass, since its route does not correspond to the route of the planned new overpass and the ramps that will be built. In addition to the construction of a new overpass, reconstruction and expansion of existing access roads are also necessary.
