Turkish Statistical Institute‘nun (TURKSTAT) announced the Paid Employee Statistics data for August. In August 2024, the number of paid employees in the industry, construction and trade-service sectors increased by 2.6 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 15 million 883 thousand 831 people. In the same period last year, this number was recorded as 15 million 484 thousand 782.
When examined on a sectoral basis, while there was a 0.8 percent decrease in the number of paid employees in the industrial sector, there was a 6.9 percent increase in the construction sector and a 3.7 percent increase in the trade and service sectors. This significant growth in the construction sector is associated with the increase in demand and investments in the sector.
