The building of the General Consulate of Romania in Los Angeles was evacuated due to the fires, at the request of the American authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday.

“Considering the unpredictable evolution of the fires, the American authorities requested the evacuation of the building of the General Consulate of Romania in Los Angeles. Thus, the consular office temporarily suspends its activity at the headquarters in Wilshire Boulevard No. 11766 Suite 200, Los Angeles CA 90025”, the MAE sent on Friday evening.

Emergency consular services will be provided for Romanian citizens through a mobile consular team, which can be called on the emergency phone number of the Consulate General of Romania in Los Angeles: +13107210474.

The MAE advises Romanian citizens who are in Los Angeles County to follow the instructions of the local authorities and to call the single emergency number 911 in case of imminent danger.



The MFA shows that, until now, there are no reports of deceased Romanian citizens, and no requests for consular assistance have been received at the level of the consular office.

The MFA, through the consular office of Romania in Los Angeles, follows the evolution of the fires and maintains contact both with the local authorities and with the Romanian citizens in the community.
