The contract signed by Adrian Mutu with FC Petrolul


Adrian Mutu is officially the new coach of the Petrolul Ploieşti team, the Ploieşti club announced on Tuesday. The former international signed a contract with FC Petrolul Ploiesti that will last until the end of the 2025-2026 season.

Adrian Mutu will meet his new students on January 3, the day Petrol will leave for the training camp in Antalya, and he will have as collaborators in the technical staff Bogdan Pătraşcu, Florin Stângă (secondary coaches), Cătălin Grigore (goalkeeper coach ) and Laurentiu Marinescu (physical trainer).

Adrian Mutu, having reached the age of 45, thus returns to FC Petrolul, almost 11 years away from the moment when he wore the “yellow-blue” shirt as a player. Owner of the Romanian Cup at that time, Petrolul represented, in January 2014, a new milestone in an impressive career, and the “Brilliant” would reward the “wolves” fans with some unforgettable moments, such as the developments in the games with Victoria Pilsen.

As a coach, Adrian Mutu also trained FC Voluntari, Al Wahda, Romania U21, FC U 1948 Craiova, Rapid Bucharest, Neftchi PFK Baku, CFR Cluj. He participated with the “U21” national team in the final tournament of the European Championship (2021).
