Two Dutch car dealers have been banned from trading 260 BMWs from the Fremantle Highway freighter, which burned down last year.
The court in The Hague did not have much understanding for the lawsuit of the entrepreneurs who initiated the lawsuit against the German car manufacturer. Namely, BMW banned them from selling those vehicles. The judge concluded that BMW was right to stop the sale because the quality of the vehicles was called into question due to the prolonged exposure to high temperatures in the fire on the ship.
Last year, the vehicles came into the hands of the company for the sale of used vehicles Womy and 3B Exclusief, after an agreement with the insurance company, which covered the ship’s accident, according to HAK magazine.
Let us remind you that the ship caught fire in the summer of last year, and there were thousands of cars on it, some of which were electric. The ship was towed to the Dutch coast, followed by the enormous job of unloading several thousand cars.
Some of those vehicles were burnt. However, there were also cars that suffered little or no damage. The analysis showed that even those cars are not safe, although there is no damage on the outside. The German manufacturer immediately concluded that the vehicles of that brand must be destroyed. They had only minor damage from the soot, claimed a lawyer for the companies trying to sell BMW cars. However, BMW claimed that there is no guarantee that soot is the only damage.
