The Crown Prince received a round of applause in the castle square before his first New Year’s cure

Crown Prince Christian has arrived on Wednesday evening for New Year’s Eve at Amalienborg in Copenhagen.

It is the crown prince’s first New Year’s cure and table.

On arrival, he turned towards the castle square and waved to those present, who applauded.

Queen Margrethe, Princess Benedikte, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have also arrived for the New Year’s cure, which King Frederik and Queen Mary are hosting for the first time.

King Frederik and Queen Mary are the last to arrive at the table, which the royal couple is hosting for the first time.

At 8 p.m., the New Year’s meal has started, and the royal house has shared the evening’s menu on its website.

The guests, which include the government, begin the meal with chicken consommé, which is a soup. Then they must have baked celery with spinach puree and lemon jelly.

The main course is veal cooked like Wellington, where the meat is baked in puff pastry. For the veal, the guests will receive, among other things, Danish truffles and port wine sauce as well as wine from Chateau de Cayx in France, which Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik bought in 1974.

The evening’s dessert is champagne mousse with vanilla fromage and pickled berries.
