Crown Prince Christian is slowly getting ready to return home to Denmark after his stay in East Africa.
At the same time, he is looking forward to serving his military service at the Guard Hussar Regiment in Slagelse in February.
The crown prince writes this in a post on the royal house’s Instagram profile, where he also tells what he has been doing in East Africa in recent months.
Here he has worked in a nature reserve and had “an experience I will never forget”.
Time has passed with, among other things, nature conservation, where he has been involved in tagging and registering animals.
He has also helped to build houses for the employees, and it has also led to a few football matches against the locals.
Crown Prince Christian will return home to Denmark shortly so he can celebrate Christmas with his family.
Thus, the royal house announced on Wednesday that the royal couple, their children and Queen Margrethe will spend Christmas at Marselisborg in Aarhus.
There is a tradition for members of the royal family to spend a period of their lives in the armed forces.
The Crown Prince’s great-grandfather, Frederik IX, attended the Navy Cadet School and later became rear admiral.
And his father, Frederik 10th, received his military training at the Royal Life Guard before becoming part of the Friars’ Corps.
His uncle, Prince Joachim, has also completed military leadership training and is today a defense attaché at the Danish embassy in Washington.
