The cyclists will return to the mountains in the 17th stage of the Tour de France

Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux (France) – After the last sprint stage of the 111th edition of the Tour de France, the cyclists will return to the mountains today. In the 17th stage, a 178-kilometer long route with an elevation gain of 2,850 meters awaits them, which has a destination in the Superdévoluy ski resort. Before him, the peloton has to overcome three climbs of the first to third category.

In the Alps, the fight between the Slovenian Tadej Pogačar and the Dane Jonas Vingegaard for the overall victory should continue. Thanks to the three mountain stages won, Pogačar is at the head of the standings. The winner of the race from 2020 and 2021 is more than three minutes ahead of the defending champion from the previous two years.

Czech cyclist Jan Hirt, who continuously helps the third Belgian Remec Evenepoel in the mountains, is in 88th place with more than three hours behind Pogačar.
