The Czechs built the longest tram in the world

The Czech company Škoda produced the longest tram in the world, which will run through the German city of Mannheim.

The ForCity Smart 38T tram model is 60 meters long and has six sections or carriages. Its capacity is 368 passengers, of which 144 are seats, which is an impressive capacity.

The maximum speed of this tram with the most modern equipment is 80 kilometers per hour. It was tested in Pilsen, Czech Republic.

Mannheim ordered 12 trams of the mentioned model from Škoda. The delivery contract was signed in 2018, and it is a deal worth 250 million euros.

Then it was agreed that the trams would be of different lengths. Later, the German city ordered another 34 trams from the Czech manufacturer.

Škoda ForCity Smart 38T is a tram that operates in several other European cities.
