The bodies of two youths who went missing after drowning in the Karnaphuli river of Kaptai upazila of Rangamati have been recovered. 42 hours after drowning while bathing, the body was found in the river.
On Thursday (December 26) around 7:30 am, the bodies of tourists Priyant Dey (16) and Shaon Dutta (17) were found in the Sitarghat section of the Karnaphuli river in Chitmaram union of the upazila. Earlier, he drowned in the river at the same place last Tuesday around 1.30 pm while taking a bath.

Later in the afternoon 3 of them went to bathe in the river. At one point, two tourists Priyant De and Shaon Dutt drowned in the river and disappeared. The bodies of the two missing persons were found at the same place at 7:30 am.
Kaptai Upazila Executive Officer (UN) Jisan bin Majed said that the bodies of two missing tourists who drowned in the river have been found. The fire service and the police station have been informed. They will come and complete the legal process.
Chandraghona police station OC Muhammad Shahjahan Kamal said that the police have been sent to the spot.
