The debut single of the band Black Idol

Progressive metal composition Black Idol released his debut single and music video for the song “Son of No Desire”, in which they explore the collision between striving to fulfill one’s own desires and the need to maintain connection with those close to us.

The song “Son of No Desire” is a clash of fears – fear of losing others and fear of loss
herself, and she presents the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut EP release, which will be in
to be published in its entirety by the end of the year.

The band consists of guitarists Aleksandar Bojković and Uroš Savić Kain, bassist Vasily Shabrov, drummer Timur Barsukov and singer Aleksa Matić.

Black Idol was formed in 2022 in Belgrade by Uroš Savić Kain and Andreja, Nikola and
Alekse Matić, who have played together in different bands since 2012 in his hometown
Kruševac. After making the decision to devote themselves to their love for progressive metal and
related genres, they started writing songs together for the band’s first EP release i
performed several times in Belgrade.

Their debut single “Son of No Desire” won third place at the international music competition of all genres organized by the Italian organization Art-Waves, in which bands and performers from all over the world participated.

The song was recorded in Down There Studio (Belgrade) with producer Uroš Milkić, while mixing and mastering was done by Linus Corneliusson and Tony Lindgren, producers of Fascination Street.
Studios (Sweden) who have worked with great progressive metal acts like Opeth and Leprous, who are also some of the band’s biggest influences.
