Both major Milanese football clubs, AC and Inter, surprisingly did not win in the matches of the opening round of the Italian Serie A.

Genoa’s 2:2 draw against defending champion Inter Milan was decided in the fifth minute of added time by the home team’s Messias (right).
The opening match of the new season of Serie A between Genoa and reigning champion Inter Minála ended in a 2-2 draw. The guests led in extra time after two goals by Marcus Thuram, but their opponent equalized after an unconverted penalty thanks to Junior Messias.
In Genoa, the home side unexpectedly opened the scoring in the 20th minute, Thuram responded to Alessandro Vogliacco’s goal after half an hour of play. He also netted another one, which paid only after being reviewed by the VAR system. In added time, the home team had a great opportunity in the form of a penalty, which Messias did not convert. A moment later, however, he was the one who set up Jan’s point.
Parma, which welcomed Fiorentina, also started its return to the top competition with an indecisive result. She had not been in the top Italian competition for three years and on Saturday she led almost an hour of the game. However, she did not take advantage of Marin Pongračič’s dismissal at the end of the meeting.
The match between AC Milan and AC Turin also ended in a tie for the third place (2:2). A minute before the end, the guests were winning by two goals. However, in the 89th minute, striker Alvaro Morata scored a contact goal, and in the fifth minute of added time, Okafor decided on the division of points.
