The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive returns to Bucharest. The money raised will be donated to charity

On Sunday, September 29, 2024, thousands of stylish gentlemen from around the world will come together to drive their classic cars at the same time in over 60 countries on all continents. Their mission: to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. The event will be organized in Bucharest for the second time.

Launched in 2021 as a natural continuation of the famous “Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride” dedicated to elegant motorcyclists, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is a social event involving classic cars (cars 40 years old or older). Vintage car owners and enthusiasts are encouraged to dress smart and drive to support men’s health.

The event connects classic car enthusiasts with elegant glamor in a unique and friendly event where urologists, psychologists and public figures are invited to open the dialogue on topics of crucial importance to men’s health.

Every year we lose over 500,000 men to suicide. That is one man every minute. This statistic must change. Romanian men have a higher suicide rate, the ratio being 16.5%, versus that of Romanian women, 3.3% – so more than 5 times higher. In Romania, the incidence of cancer and the mortality caused by cancer exceed the EU average, with 283 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, versus 264 in the EU. This indicates deficiencies in cancer diagnosis and treatment outcomes

Which vehicles can be registered at The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive Bucharest

“This Sunday will mark four years of DGD, in which thousands of drivers from all over the world will come together to support men’s health, but also two years since we organized the initiative in Romania as well”, says Răzvan Buzoianu, host of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive Bucharest . “Anyone who has owned a classic car for 40 years or more can make a difference to the lives and health of men and their families around the world. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is an open invitation to all classic car enthusiasts to participate, driving in style for a powerful cause. By being open and willing to spark crucial conversations to improve men’s health, we can have a profound positive impact on women, families and society as a whole.”

Vehicles eligible for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive must be manufactured before December 31, 1984 (with certain exceptions for later replicas and identical models). This ensures that all participating vehicles respect the spirit and style of the event.

Registration is open on event platform. To participate, you need to create a profile, register with a classic car and donate to the cause.

Movember is the official charity partner of the event. Funds raised on the event platform are invested in vital research and initiatives for prostate cancer and men’s mental health, supporting men’s well-being globally. At the same time, the drive in Bucharest supports the local associations Sus Inima and Cortul Terapeutic.

The starting location, as well as the route and destination are secret for objective reasons and will be communicated to the participants before the event, after registration. The number of participants for the first edition is limited to 60 classic cars. Participants can come accompanied.
