Many Russians’ favorite breakfast dish turned out to be unhealthy. We are talking about semolina porridge, writes therapist Irina Baranova in the TG channel.
She noted that this porridge should not be consumed often. This product has a very high glycemic index and may cause a spike in blood sugar levels. It contains a lot of fast carbohydrates and almost no protein and dietary fiber, which ensure the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.
Such porridge can cause obesity, the doctor added.
In addition, semolina porridge contains phytic acid, which interferes with the absorption of calcium, magnesium and iron.
