Spectacular footage was captured by traffic surveillance cameras and the authorities’ body cameras of the September 12 rescue operation carried out by the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan, USA.

The police received a report of a car driving erratically, but the driver of the GMC Sierra did not respond to the distinctive light and sound signals and continued driving at a speed of approximately 8 km/h. Because of this, they were forced to drive next to the pick-up, and then they saw that the 63-year-old man sitting behind the wheel could not comply with the request due to his health condition, reported the news Carscoops.

He was still able to lower the window and apply the brakes for a short time – this was also an important moment in terms of the success of the rescue operation, because thanks to this, the deputy sheriff was able to climb out of the police car and jump into the GMC. After he was able to stop the vehicle by climbing over the incapacitated driver into the mother-in-law’s seat, they contacted his family and then transported the man to the hospital.

The sheriff’s deputy was praised for risking his own safety to “help a citizen in need and protect other road users”.
