According to the indictment, the defendant, who is in his forties, ordered hemp seeds from Austria for his own drug consumption in 2022, then raised and propagated the individuals produced from them by converting the basement of his home in the Great Plains.
By providing special humidification, temperature and lighting, the man cultivated more than 100 hemp plants until February 2024, thereby obtaining a significant amount of the active substance of the drug, which he sold in abundance.
This is how the defendant came into contact with his younger companion, who was charged, who bought marijuana and two hemp plants from the man for a total of HUF 720,000. In the autumn of 2023, the defendant from Somogy created an environment suitable for the needs of hemp plants in a room of a boarding house in Balaton, then with additional ordered plants he took care of a total of nine hemp plants, and he also sold a small part of the crop.
During the coordinated actions, the police confiscated both the plants and the tools used for cultivation, and detained the accused.
In its indictment submitted to the Kaposvár Court of Justice, the General Prosecutor’s Office made a motion for imprisonment and disqualification from public affairs against both traders.
