More precisely, in the last decade, the export value has increased for about four years, according to ZF calculations based on data from The Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC).

This evolution has a number of explanations. On the one hand, the substantial increase in recent years – starting with the pandemic years – comes against the background of the fact that people stayed at home for more time and thus equipped their homes with such products.

During the health crisis, when HoReCa operated with restrictions or was even closed, consumers drank coffee at home, so many of them bought an espresso machine.

De’Longhi and Versuni (formerly Philips) are the main players in this field. This is also seen in the fact that the first export destinations are the mother countries of the two companies, namely Italy and the Netherlands. The local history of this industry began to be written about 15 years ago, but the most accelerated growth took place in the last decade.
