Foreign. The European Parliament has voted through a resolution calling on all member states to immediately allow Ukraine to use Western long-range weapons to attack Moscow. Something that, according to Vladimir Putin, means war between NATO and Russia.
EU countries are urged to “immediately lift restrictions on the use of weapons systems from the West”.
425 members voted for, 131 voted against and 63 abstained, reports Politico.
On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with outgoing US President Joe Biden to discuss the issue.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, for his part, has declared that he considers such a use of weapons as direct Western interference in the war, and that it would mean that Russia is at war with the EU countries and NATO, that is, what is popularly called the third world war
