In previous years, we witnessed negligence towards the river Lim and its coast. The European Union, as a constituent of the future government, is firmly committed to taking all necessary steps to protect the Lim and its tributaries, said Nebojša Deit Jovančević, a candidate on the list “European Union – SD, SDP, LP and citizens – May the dawn dawn on you too, Berane”.

“The river Lim is a symbol of our region, a source of life and a natural beauty that connects not only us Berans and Berans, but all the towns upstream and downstream. Unfortunately, during the previous years, we witnessed negligence towards this river and its banks. Pollution, unmaintained and illegal landfills they threatened the river and all the plant and animal life that lives in it. It’s time for things to change,” said Jovančević.

Jovančević stated a series of measures that the European Union will take after it becomes part of the government in Berane.

“As members of the future government, we firmly commit to taking all necessary steps to protect the Lim and its tributaries. We will protect the fish stocks and the Lim’s shores, making it clean and safe again for all living things. We will organize regular cleaning of the Lim River and its tributaries, by which we will ensure that the river becomes a mirror of our joint effort,” Jovančević promised.

He emphasized the necessity of cooperation with all the cities through which the Lim flows.

“We will establish cooperation with all cities upstream and downstream in order to jointly take care of the Lim, because no city can solve the problem of pollution of this river alone. We will clean up all illegal landfills and waste along the Lim and prevent their re-creation,” said Jovančević.

The candidate on the list of the European Union added that the European Union will emphasize the regular maintenance of the coast of Lima, which should be turned into an area for rest and recreation.

“With cooperation with all the citizens of Beran, fishing societies, non-governmental organizations, the relevant ministry, everyone who cares about Lim, we will regularly maintain the coast, turning it into a place for rest and recreation,” Jovančević pointed out.

He emphasized that Berane deserves a clean Lim.

“The river Lim is not only a natural resource. It is our identity and part of our cultural heritage. That is why it is our duty, but also the obligation of all of us, to treat Lim responsibly and preserve it for future generations because Berane deserves a clean Lim, and Lim deserves our care and attention”, concluded Jovančević.
