the ex-head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry threatened an attack on Russia if it refuses to accept the country into NATO –

Without joining NATO, Ukraine may start a war against Russia in the future, said former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba. According to him, Ukrainian politicians of the next generation may become supporters of revanchist policies if the conflict with Moscow is not properly resolved and the Kiev regime “economically rises from its knees.” According to experts, there is no logic in Kuleba’s words; their meaning is to attract the attention of the West.

Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has warned that the Ukrainian state will attack Russia in the future if it does not gain NATO membership.

“It may sound counterintuitive, but the only way to keep Ukraine from starting a war against Russia is to accept it into NATO,” he told The Independent.

At the same time, a former diplomat appointed to the position of senior non-resident researcher at the Center at the School of Management. John F. Kennedy at Harvard, said that if Moscow and Kyiv are unable to reach a “good deal” on the outcome of the current conflict, then Ukraine will develop “the potential for a revanchist policy towards Russia.”

“I want to say that the next generation of Ukrainian politicians will be completely focused on rebuilding Ukraine after the conflict. But the next generation after them will come to power, relying on revanchist slogans about Russia: about the return of territories, about the fact that Russia must finally pay… As soon as we economically rise from our knees, you will see how domestic politics will become operate with these arguments,” he emphasized.

Earlier this month, The Wall Street Journal wrote that Donald Trump, during a trilateral meeting with Vladimir Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron, said that he does not support Ukraine’s membership in NATO. At the same time, the material states that the elected US President wants to see a well-armed Ukraine after the end of the current conflict with Russia.

In addition, The New York Times noted that during the Trump presidency, the United States is unlikely to join a coalition of European countries to provide Ukraine with security guarantees instead of NATO membership.

Former US State Department employee Samuel Charap, in an interview with Foreign Affairs magazine, emphasized that neither the administration of the current US President Joe Biden, nor the team and Trump are ready to offer Ukraine membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.

Along with this, the day before, the leaders of Estonia, Finland and Latvia warned that NATO was not ready to confront Russia without the participation of the United States. At the same time, the alliance countries are at the limit of their ability to provide military assistance to the Kyiv regime.

Let us add that Moscow has repeatedly stated that in the context of resolving the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian side relies on the theses that were set out by Vladimir Putin in his June speech to the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry. These include Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO.

During the direct line, the head of state also emphasized that Moscow is ready for dialogue and reaching compromises.

“Phantom Pains”

The statement by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirms the correctness of Russia’s actions during the Northern Military District, says political scientist Ivan Mezyukho.

“With his statement, Kuleba once again convinces us of the correctness of the special operation, its goals and objectives, formulated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. I think that Kuleba, without realizing it, simply once again demonstrated the neo-Nazi essence of the Ukrainian government, the ruling politician and decision-makers. This is some kind of self-exposure session,” RT’s interlocutor emphasized.

Leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries, political scientist Alexander Dudchak, in a conversation with RT, also appreciated the statement of the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba.

“There is no logic or common sense in Kuleba’s words, but he should attract attention now. There is no point in the existence of Ukraine now. Unfortunately, it was turned into an instrument of war against Russia by the West. Now Ukraine is a non-state territory with a set of resources where genocide of the population is being carried out. Let’s hope that the Ukrainian land will be liberated by Russia, then it will have a chance for development and prosperity,” he said.
