The new station is located in the heart of New Belgrade, in a strategically positioned location, in the immediate vicinity of the motor road (the former highway through Belgrade), right next to the New Belgrade railway station and just a few minutes from the city transport station with lines leading to the Airport. Nikola Tesla.

Three bus lines, 60, 60L and 67, depart from the starting stop Zeleni venac, which go to the new bus station, and bus number 89 runs from Vidikovac to it. Everyone who lives or finds themselves on the stretch Miljakovac-Bežanijska kosa will find bus 93, and nearby 94, which runs from Block 45 in New Belgrade to Resnik, also stops at the new station. And bus number 600 will make the journey easier and faster, primarily because of its route. It starts from Centar Railway Station and the last stop on this line is Nikola Tesla Airport.

The new bus station can also be reached by the first electric bus line in Belgrade, EKO 1, which will also suit many people because it covers a long route – from the Wolf Monument to the Belvil settlement.

What is in Block 42?

An unhygienic settlement is now spread over the place where it used to be a modern station platform with 65 platforms and a parking lot with 186 spacesas well as new access roads that allow easy access to the station from all directions.

Construction of a 27,000 square meter station building is underway which, once completed, will be able to rival the main station buildings in the world’s metropolises in appearance and facilities, providing passengers with a modern and functional space with restaurants, cafes, banks and other necessary facilities. Until the completion of the work on the new station building, passengers will use temporary facility with basic contents. It is in question annex of about 1,200 square meters which was built by the City of Belgrade and fully equipped for the smooth functioning of the station.

What was built

Cell platform with 65 platforms namely 12 arrival and 53 departure platforms. Departure platforms are arranged so that 8 are reserved for suburban traffic, 14 for international, 22 for intercity and 9 for off-line tourist traffic. It was built and preparatory parking for buses with 80 seats as well parking for passengers from 186 seats, of which 89 are intended for arriving passengers, while 97 seats are reserved for departing passengers. A taxi station with 25 seats will be located within the station plateau.

The new location of the bus station will significantly contribute to the relief of the city center. Traffic, which for years created congestion and increased pollution in the central parts of Belgrade, will now be redirected to a new route. This will reduce air pollution and improve the passenger experience who will now be able to get to the station faster and easier whether they use GSP bus lines, trams or their own transport. It will be particularly beneficial for those who combine bus, rail and air transport, as all these modes of transport will be close to each other. Prekoputa of the new bus station a modern station building for railway traffic will also be built which will make this part of the city a central traffic hub not only for Belgrade, but also for the whole of Serbia. This kind of integration will make it easier for passengers to switch from one mode of transportation to another, which will shorten the travel time and improve the efficiency of traffic in the entire region. The connection between the bus and railway station buildings will be an annex of 1,200 square meters which has already been built and which will serve as a temporary station building in the coming period.

Relocating the bus station is part of the comprehensive traffic master plan for Belgrade which also includes a new railway station, the revitalization of the airport “Nikola Tesla” and the construction of the metro system. This plan aims to make traffic in the Serbian capital sustainable, following the best European practices, that is, public transport, cyclists and pedestrians will finally gain primacy over passenger cars. By implementing this plan Belgrade is transforming into a modern and ecologically sustainable citywhich provides a better quality of life to its citizens and a better experience to its visitors.
