The exhibition “Science in the Faces” will be presented at the IV Congress of Young Scientists

The exposition will be located at the main entrance to the Sirius University of Science and Technology during the Congress on November 27–29.

The scientists whose portraits are included in the exhibition annually take part in key discussions of the Congress and present their developments at the exhibition of modern Russian technologies. 7,000 guests of the event will be able to see portraits of 24 outstanding Russian scientists, engineers, inventors, laureates of the President of the Russian Federation Prize in the field of science and innovation for young scientists.

Georgy Gogaevleading product designer at the Experimental Design Bureau named after A.M. Lyulki, associate professor at the Moscow Aviation Institute, winner of the Presidential Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and innovation for young scientists for 2023, will take part in sessions dedicated to the work of industrial graduate school in Russia and the role of student design bureaus in solving industrial problems. He will also speak at the Rostec stand as part of a series of interviews with young scientists. The scientist will talk about his developments and promising projects in the field of engine building, and also share his impressions of the Congress.

Susanna GordleevaProfessor of the Department of Neurotechnologies, Director of the Research Institute of Neurosciences of Nizhny Novgorod State University. N.I. Lobachevsky, head of the center for neuromorphic computing at ANO Neimark, will talk about how to turn fundamental knowledge into world-class technology. Susanna Gordleyeva in 2023 became the laureate of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of science and innovation for young scientists for the development of models and technologies of neuromorphic artificial intelligence. She will also take part in a session on digital services for scientists, engineers, technology entrepreneurs and other members of the professional community.

In the session “Vector on technological leadership: how do young scientists see Russia of the future?” will be attended by the head of the youth group of the Scientific Center for Genetics and Life Sciences of the Sirius University of Science and Technology, laureate of the Presidential Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and innovation for young scientists for 2023, Sergey Pavlushin, and the head of the scientific project implementation group of JSC Rosatom Science, Vladislav Parfenov. The Congress will also be attended by a professor from the Department of Geochemistry at St. Petersburg State University, a researcher at the Institute of Precambrian Geology and Geochronology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a laureate of the Presidential Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and innovation for young scientists for 2023. Olga Yakubovich.

Deputy General Director for Science, Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare Irina Alekseenko will moderate a session on the topic of gene and cell therapy, participate in sessions on the topics of technological leadership and creating a media image of a scientist, as well as in a master class for aspiring biotech entrepreneurs.

Konstantin VernigorovGeneral Director of the SIBUR PolyLab research center ecosystem, will take part in a discussion on the creation and development of research and development units in corporations, as well as in a discussion on the implementation of applied scientific projects in African countries.

Denis Dimitrovmanaging director for data research at Sberbank PJSC, founder and head of the Kandinsky neural network development team, during the Congress will talk about the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the media and the future of cybernetic art, and will also take part in the open dialogue “30 questions for startups who were able to ” and the session “5 stories about how modern Russian science is changing people’s lives.” In the discussion “Modern technologies in humanitarian research and the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Russian Federation,” Denis Dimitrov will talk about the use of Kandinsky 3.0 technology to restore images of lost paintings by famous Russian artists and the “Digital Peter” model for recognizing the manuscripts of Peter I.

Director of the Center for the History of Russian Science and Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian State University for the Humanities Evgenia Dolgova will act as a participant and moderator of sessions dedicated to the history of Russian and Soviet science and instilling pride in the achievements of Russian science among the younger generation.

During the year, the exhibition “Science in Faces” was seen by visitors to the main venues of the country: guests of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, visitors of the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”, Gorky Park and the South River Station in Moscow, passengers of the Belorussky Station and the Moscow Metro. In the fall of 2024, the exhibition was presented at the sites of the largest universities in the Russian regions: students from Novosibirsk, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Vladivostok, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Tyumen, Ufa, Samara, Berdyansk met the authors of the most important scientific achievements and developments. In a number of universities, the heroes of the project gave live lectures about their discoveries, the development of Russian science and career prospects for young scientists in various fields.

The exhibition “Science in Faces” is part of the “Science is Nearby” initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology, announced by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and is held with grant support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The exhibition is supported by the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education.
