The Ferrari F80 originally had no passenger seat

The Ferrari F80 may have two seats inside, but Ferrari’s original intention was to equip its new hypercar with only a driver’s seat.

This was stated in a recent interview by the head of design of the Scuderia, Flavio Manzoni, emphasizing that the idea behind this thought was to give the successor to the LaFerrari, “really extreme dimensions” by adopting an extremely narrow cabin.

However, this idea did not go ahead and the car also got a passenger seat, but Manzoni says Ferrari figured out how to make the interior feel like a car without sacrificing the passenger seat.

That is why the asymmetric interior design solution was chosen which makes the driver’s seat adjustable, as opposed to the front passenger’s seat which is fixed to the frame and placed slightly behind the driver’s, which increases ergonomics and comfort.
